The UAE has reached a remarkable milestone in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The UAE Government and its Front-line workers have taken extraordinary measures to ensure the country, it’s citizens and residents are safe and well-taken care of during these difficult times. Nearly more than 2 million tests have been conducted since the outbreak, putting the country at the top of the highest number of coronavirus tests carried out in the world.

Oriental Group together with 3 other private Tobacco companies in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai have donated AED 1 million towards the fund. The Community Solidarity Fund Against COVID-19 was launched by the Government of Dubai’s Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department.

Since the pandemic, Oriental Group has taken strict measures to protect its employees from the spread of COVID. The rules put forth by the government as well as workplace safety has been an utmost priority. The company has implemented a work-from-home policy for 70% of the staff. All employees and visitors are screened before entering the premises with temperature checks, making sure every individual wear masks and gloves at all times. A thorough disinfection of the work premises is carried out at intervals 7 days a week. Protective screens have been put up in the reception and cubicle areas in the offices. It has not been an easy couple of months for the world, but it is our corporate social responsibility to protect members of our community, as this too shall pass.

Oriental Group first set-up it’s office in Jebel Ali Free Zone in 1997 and in 2005 moved to a larger office and warehouse space. Over the last decade or more, Oriental Group’s brands gained a strong foothold in several emerging markets around the world and ventured into the business of distributing its brands through the Travel Retail networks across the globe.Due to growing demand of its brands, Oriental Group invested in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone and had its Grand Opening Ceremony on the 22nd of January 2020.

Oriental Group’s presence in Dubai, through our Headquarters located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, has played a key role in the company’s success over the last two decades. The support we have received from the relevant authorities in JAFZA and Dubai throughout our operational existence has encouraged us to invest in this new manufacturing site. This facility has a total area of 172,000 square feet and will specialize in the manufacturing and packaging of different Oriental brands produced by the state-of-the-art technology from leading European companies. Our new facility will enable us to meet the fast-growing demand we anticipate in our export regions. We are committed to creating shared value in this region and our continued commitment and ongoing investment demonstrate our confidence in the region.
